I would like to express my appreciation and applause: 1) faculty and parents for making my family and me feel so welcome--it was a big move and I wasn't really sure when I first got here that it was a good one, but we are feeling right at home because of your welcoming spirit (your assistance in everything has been awesome). 2) volleyball coaches and players for their enthusiasm, hard work and dedication. I am so impressed with the respectful attitude and spirit of the athletes and overall student body. This is a direct reflection of the school and home environments. You have done and are doing a great job!!!

I absolutely love the smart document camera
....THANK YOU SO
MUCH!
I began
using it the day Pam installed it. This makes my job much more
productive. The smartboards along with the technology that goes with them
are such an asset to our classrooms and for our students.
THANK YOU AGAIN! ![]()

I would like to thank the Ladies from the pageant for participation to raise money for the Down Syndrome Children. I feel so blessed to work around young adults that reach out to help those in need. We have such great students here at Wink. They are always thinking of others. As some of you are aware my new grandson Kasen Allan Gilbreath was born June 20 with Down Syndrome. The more that I learn about this syndrome the more I realize that even the smallest donations will go a long ways to help with the expense of the therapy that each child needs. If there is anyone that would like to continue to donate, David, Desiree and Kasen are members of the 4Rkids and are raising money for Down Syndrome children and Adults. Please let me know and I will get the address for you. Also, I would like to thank the administration and school board members for the new smart board camera. The kids in my class have really enjoyed working on the smart boards. I appreciate everything that the Rogers do to get new technology up and running in the classroom for the students.

The Baad Cat Band did an awesome job at the Tall City Marching Festival and the Sul Ross Marching Invitational! Go Band!
I am very proud of the Baad Cat Band's improvements in work ethic, rehearsal habits, leadership, and marching fundamentals.

So many great things going on at Wink that it's hard to know where to begin. . . . .
Kudos to Katie Fletcher and Kristene Augusta for jumping into Student Council with a vengeance and already accomplishing so much! They have a great group of officers who are showing leadership and good work ethic, and many good class representatives who are willing to jump in and help whenever needed. Great job!
Thanks to our school board and administration for offering the flu shots to WLISD employees for free. That's a great opportunity to support our wellness and we appreciate it. Special thanks to Cendy Antley for heading that up and making all the arrangements.
I would like to personally thank Mr. Boggess & WLISD for allowing me to use a few of my personal and sick leave days to go stay with my daughter following the birth of her son. Not every workplace is so generous and I truly appreciate the opportunity to go help out with her and her family during such a special time.
The Band sounds great, don't know how Mr. Roberts gets such good sound from so few, but he does it. Good job, band, and good luck at contest!
Sports are off to a great start - volleyball, cross country, and football at all levels are experiencing good participation and success. Hats off to those coaches and players who put in lots of hours to be competitive. Good luck as district play continues~
Thanks to Coach Sanchez & Mrs. Rogers for getting our Twitter up and going, and thanks to them and Mr. Boggess for updating it. There are quite a few followers already, and the Odessa American newspaper made mention of how much they appreciate having that information available and how they wish others would follow suit. Good job!
I see many random acts of kindness around campus, from students helping each other out to staying after games to help clean up. We are fortunate to be in a community where kindness is the norm rather than the exception. Thanks, kids, for making this such a great place to work.

Love the way the 7th graders are making their way to the main
building in the mornings to work on their UIL events. Great job!
Love the extra time and effort that Kathy Lovell puts into her
job in trying to prevent the spread of germs. She is constantly cleaning
and sanitizing the bottom floor of the high school. I love that when she
has extra time, she is polishing the wood work and making our school look
really good.
Love the fact that our football boys continued the fight against Eunice and
never gave up, even when they were down and ultimately ended up on top!
Love the enthusiasm that I am seeing from our high school students with their
UIL events. Many of them are going strong and it is great to see such
good academic efforts.
Loved the school spirit that permeated the halls during homecoming week with
all of the classes getting involved in the door decorating contest. Great
job StuCo in getting us all moving in the right direction.
Love it that Ms. Augusta has not missed a beat and has been super helpful as
the librarian and trying to get us everything we need to be successful!
Love it that the volleyball team is experiencing such success. They look
like they are having a blast playing together. Keep up the good
work!

Ladycats are having a great season! I am aware of the hard work these girls put in to be successful and it shows that it’s paying off! All the way to state Ladycats!!!
The band is looking and sounding great as ever. Best wishes for them on Saturday at the District UIL Marching competition! GO BAAAD Cat Band!!!!
Thanks to Stimulus monies we were able to order Smart Document Cameras for all of elementary. Those were installed a couple of weeks ago and have proved to be a huge benefit to the elementary teachers. With that being said, thank you to Mr. Benham and Mr. Boggess for allowing us to go ahead and order some for Jr. Hi and High School!
When I first came to Wink there were many teachers who did not want more technology in their classrooms – quite the opposite actually! Now when new technology is offered, it is welcomed and in some instances, embraced! (Quite literally at times!) I’m so glad to see so many teachers becoming relaxed and having fun with these great teaching tools! My hat is off to each of you!
Our Wildcats are off and running in District play – best of luck to these guys as they battle for their place in the playoffs!
Kristene Augusta and Katie Fletcher are doing a great job with STUCO! The Door decorating contests and the Miss Eunice Pageant was great! Those lovely “ladies” parading up and down the halls to raise money for Down Syndrome children was above and beyond the call of duty! Hats off to Chris, Kris, Shea, Mason and Skylar!
Katie Fletcher seems to be everywhere!!! She and her journalism students are not missing a beat in obtaining photos for our yearbook, channel 3 and the website! Thanks Ms. Fletcher!
Hats off to Mr. Carman for doing such a great job in announcements at the football games! He seems to be a natural! Thanks also to Mr. Boggess for updating our Twitter page at the different sports games. Even the Odessa American commented on how well we were reporting on Twitter! Below is the post from Odessa American Online:
Odessa American live football updates on Friday September 25, 2009:
Wink 50, Eunice (N.M.) 47 (F) — credit to the people for updating Wink's twitter during a bad first half; other people should take note
UIL practices are ramping up! Coaches and students are working hard to keep that Academic Championship here in Wink! Best of luck to all of our UIL Teams!
The elementary Fire Prevention programs seemed to go really well. Thanks to the firemen who took the time out to provide the program and give rides in the fire trucks for each of these classes. The bomb threat drill went well as did the fly-over. Jane Benham spend days and long hours repainting the signs in the gym - she did a great job! Thanks Jane!
